Introduced improved varieties of ginger, turmeric and black pepper from Indian Institute of Spices Research and Kerala Agricultural University to improve productivity and reduce incidence of pests and pathogens. Ginger varieties are Mahima, Athira, Karthika, Aswathi and Turmeric varieties are Alleppy Supreme, Prathibha, Kedaram.
